Useful phone numbers in Valencia
🚨 Emergencies and safety (available 24/7)
- 112 – General emergencies: The most important number. It covers medical assistance, police and fire services. It’s free, works even without a SIM card, and operators speak English, French and German as well as Spanish.
- 091 – National Police (PolicĂa Nacional): To report thefts, lost documents or public safety issues.
- 092 – Local Police (PolicĂa Local): Traffic, items lost on the street, or neighbour and noise problems.
- 080 – Fire brigade: Direct line to the city fire service.
đźš– Transport and getting around (move like a local)
These are the direct contacts for organising your day-to-day journeys:
- Radio Taxi València: +34 963 70 33 33 (you can call or book through their official “PideTaxi” app).
- Tele Taxi València: +34 963 57 13 13.
- Metro and tram network: metrovalencia.es – Ideal for checking the times of the first and last metro of the day, especially Line 10, which serves our neighbourhood.
- City buses (EMT): emtvalencia.es – Its real-time journey planner is excellent for knowing how many minutes until your bus arrives.
- Public bikes: valenbisi.es – To buy a short-term pass and check the station map (remember there’s one just 100 metres from the apartment!).
🏛️ Tourism and activities (official websites only)
Buying tickets online can be confusing. Many sites charge hidden commissions or inflated booking fees. We strongly recommend using only the official websites of each venue:
- Valencia Tourism (Visit Valencia): visitvalencia.com
- Why visit it: It’s the City Council’s official tourism website. It’s the only place you should buy the Valencia Tourist Card, and where you’ll find the up-to-date official events calendar.
- City of Arts and Sciences: cac.es
- Why visit it: To buy your tickets for the Oceanogrà fic, the Science Museum or the Hemisfèric without intermediaries.
- Bioparc València: bioparcvalencia.es
- Why visit it: Ticket office queues can be long. Buy your ticket in advance here and go straight to the entrance turnstiles.
- Central Market (Mercado Central): mercadocentralvalencia.es
- Why visit it: To check opening hours (remember it’s closed on Sundays and stalls pack up around 3 pm on weekdays) and see the interactive map of stalls.
